So every 10 years or so there's a egg revival.
Mainly because guys like Devon Howard (see below) keep on showing the world the absolute necessity of having at least one egg in your quiver.
We're nothing like those one-board-quiver type of guys (coz that would actually be pretty counterproductive as well as plain moronic for surf shop owners), but a good egg can bring us pretty close to the edge. Kind of like that hottish ex girl-/boyfriend you keep ending up in the sack with, just for the smooth & reliable ride.
Troy likes to shape his Eggman for maximum speed & trim on peeling Cali points; flat rockered, full outline, easily ridden way up front but still turning on a dime with a quick step tailwards.
It'll carry you through small, medium and with some extra skill even bigger hollower surf because it's such a stable and responsive platform. Eggman will improve your surfing in all conditions, and you'll find yourself grabbing it again and again.
Like that ex, again.
