So Sean Cusick is a kind of new-ish kid on the block, a pretty much self taught, super keen-eyed shaper from the US East Coast (of all places ;-)...) who's been travelling the globe for years now, honing his skills with a planer. And, in short, his boards are sick.
The Anhinga is a new model of his roughed out and refined last year in Europe, to enable one to keep up with speedy, more pitching waves around the rocky coast of Pays Basque and barreling beachies of Les Landes.
Featuring a narrow outline with the wide point forward. Pinched 50/50 rails in the center blend to sharp up-rails in the nose and a tucked down-rail in the tail with a hard edge in the last 6 inches. Rolled nose blends to a slight vee out the tail.
Ride this board a few inches shorter than your log. Works best in waist to head high, punchy conditions. Push hard, go fast and kill it.
Dims: 9'2 x 22" x 2"7/8
Blank: USBlanks 9'5, 3/8" Basswood stringer
Glass: full volan, gloss polished
And PS: if you like what you see, what wanna get a feel for this one... this exact model is available as a special Sea Sick Surf Must in our Bidart rental rack. Send us a DM or other type of message if you wanna try this one for yourself!
