Insanely drivey, responsive and loose modern keel twin fin set. Upgrade your classic keels now and feel the vibe. 5.7", canted and raked for your pleasure. Full volan, 90/10 hand foiled.
The traditional Keel fin design is a kind of love/hate game.
That's pretty much why a growing number of people is starting to ride a more upright pivoty style of twin fin on their fish and classic twin shapes.
Because a pair of classic keel twins will get you so so much fin near your rail for infinite speed on the straights, but at the same time that wide based huge directional rudder starts to get in your way when you actually want to go somewhere else than down the line at 200 km/h.
Enter our raked keel: with a still pretty huge surface area because of their 5.7" height, these guys will keep your board up on plane in pretty much any angle you'll put them in the water. How?
Their basic principles are the same as in a traditional keel shape (like for instance the golden oldie Hobie Fish keel ), all that fin base surface however is moved upwards and away from your board's bottom for way better release and much less drag & turbulence, and way back from the finbox and behind your back foot.
Usually this 'raked' setup leads to an unwanted delayed response when changing direction, due to the increased height of these fins though you won't lose that instant response, but that large amount of backward set surface will have you heavily leaning into big arcs and even power turns without losing a single drop of speed. That's what we call a win-win right there. Enjoy!
Ride these under any wide tailed fish or simmons shape from 5'4 to 7'6 and feel that classic drive with increased manoeuvrability.
Crafted from full volan fibreglass, hand lay-up, hand foiled from fully resin tinted panels by the masters at Macho Fins in Northern Spain. This one in our very special transparent Sea tint.
