This purrdy double-ender is your new designated point break machine. It was originally created by Josh's father Terry Martin, legendary Californian master shaper, as the Hobie Legacy model. We asked Josh if he could give us a little personal account about the how/what/why of this specific shape and well, here we ho:
" One time I asked my dad about the Legacy surfboard model of his at Hobie. I wondered why he chose it’s shape over others to be his favorite. He told me that his favorite thing to do on a wave was “climb and fall, climb and fall”. Big open face surfing. Simple, feeling the oceans energy, speed and gravity. His personal favorite length for this kind of surfing was actually shorter than the typical Legacy at 8’8. A design rooted in the big Sunset Cliffs / San Diego reef breaks."
