Shaper Renaud Cardinal of Addiction Surfboards models this B-52 after the classic outline by its predecessor, the 'Lis' fish by Steve Lis. Big glassed-on marine plywood keelfins, the widepoint way forward and a long sharp rail line make for a smooth, fast, fluid and fun surf.
Early takeoffs, nice & mellow turns and screaming down the line give this twin such a crazy fun factor. If you've never surfed a classic twin keel fish than this is the perfect step-up from your average shortboard experience.
The lack of friction caused by the 'missing' center fin will give you the feeling of flying over the face and never-ending acceleration because of the massive twin keel fin surface and bottom concave. That concave combined with the fishtail design makes your board release like crazy and loosens up your surfing in every way. Forget pumping, hopping and all that shit. One or two quick on rail lean-ins and you'll speed away like its nothing.
Oh and forget the cliché of twin fish being summer boards, 'no one in Hawaii surfs twins' etc. etc.
Take your keeled fish out in some serious pumping waves and you'll really discover the magic of this board design.
Dims: 5´8" - 20" 1/2 - 2" 1/2
Disclaimer: so this one lived a super short life as a wallhanger. Never surfed, just sat in a shop but has a little fixed tail rail crack and misses a spot of resin off the left fishtail wing tip. Therefore: priced to sell!
Available for closer inspection in our Amsterdam shop-in-shop.
Hey and watch these guys going at it: they almost exclusively surf high performance thrusters, and some admitted being blown away after this special fishy heat...
